APRIL
19th - SD&D, 2:00PM. Meet at Braums located at I-35 exit 157. That is the second Guthrie exit, turn west on Highway 33 and the Braums is right across from Johnny’s Original Rib Shack. The Weatherly’s will lead us to Enid to Costello’s Continental Cuisine restaurant (see article). Leaders: Michael & Tina Weatherly.

3rd - Catfish Platter Trip. We will leave from Love’s at Choctaw Rd. and I-40. We will leave at approximately 12 noon and return to OKC approximately 9:00PM. 8th - Monthly Meeting, 5:00PM to 8:00PM. “Birthday Bash” at Route 66 Park at Lake Overholser, (405) 297-3882. West side of Lake Overholser. Exit Route 66 at the County Line Rd turnoff (west of the expansion bridge) and drive 3 miles along the lake road to the park. Eat at 6:00PM.

12th - SD&D. Depart at 4:00PM (not 2:00PM) from the Braums located at SW 89th Street, just east of Pennsylvania Ave. The drive will last 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Howard says you will “like the food.” Leaders: Howard High & Le Yeatts.
19th - Monthly Meeting. 11:00AM at Sonic Drive-In ((405) 386-3694) located at Choctaw Rd and I-40 (south side). No need to RSVP. Just show up to say farewell to the group or depart with the Steve Moore crowd at noon. Steve is going to Catfish Platter at Willis via Strafford to buy fresh peaches or other goodies!
19th - Extra SD&D. Depart from Sonic (not Love’s) at Choctaw Rd and I-40 at 12 noon (sharp) for trip to Catfish Platter with approximate 9:00PM return. This will be a more direct route to allow time to stop at one or more fruit stands to pick up fresh peaches from Stratford, the “Peach Capital of Oklahoma”. AUGUST
16th - SD&B – (Breakfast). Depart from the Braums located near Edmond at I-35 and 15th St (this is the exit before Route 66 and a regular departure location). Secret restaurant destination but they serve “delicious ham” and most any kind of “country breakfast” you desire. Leaders Howard High & Le Yeatts.
16th - August Sports Night Out. Members who already received complimentary tickets may arrive at 6:00PM for the 7:05PM game to see the Oklahoma Redhawks play the Omaha Royals . (See article for procedure to attend another game with complimentary VIP box seats).
23rd - Monthly Meeting – “Fiesta Party”. Hosted by Larry and Leah Johnson ((405) 285-4259). Drinks and paper products will be furnished by the club. Bring something yummy, a chair to sit on, and wear sunscreen or a sunbonnet. We’re having a Snazziest Sunbonnet or Most Remarkable Hat contest. Cover those curls, shade that dome, or stifle that cowlick to win a prize. Join the party at 2333 NW 160th Street in Edmond, 73013. Best way to get there from the south is to go north on Pennsylvania Avenue to 164th Street, go left (west) on 164th for about 1/3 mile, turn left (south) on Oaklee (Seminole Point addition), continue on Oaklee approximately 1/3 mile until the road dead ends and turn left (east) on 160th Street for one block. The Johnson’s house is on the northwest corner.
SEPTEMBER
14th - Monthly Meeting. Location TBA

25th through 28 - Fall Trip - September 25-28. Miata Mountain Gold. Peak to Peak Miata Club sponsored gathering at Breckenridge, CO complete with fall color tours. For more info: http://mountaingold.peaktopeakmiata.org). No limit on cars and no registration fees. We will “banquet” on our own Saturday night. Host hotel is Beaver Run (1-800-525-2253 or www.beaverrun.com). Departure date/time TBD. Approximately 750 miles and two day drive. Great driving roads in the area. Leaders: Susan and Bill Schmidt.
OCTOBER
4th - Monthly Meeting - “Czech Parade”. Meet at 8:00AM. Bring your coffee, tea, or juice, and club will furnish pastries. Parade starts at 10:00AM. Leaders: Susan & Bill Schmidt and Wendell & Betty Kilgore.

DECEMBER
6th - Monthly Meeting - Christmas Party at 6:00PM at The Center, 4325 NW 50 St, OKC, 73112 (same place as 2007). Enjoy great food, cash bar, great friends, and if you wish to play dirty Santa bring one gift ($20 limit) per car.
